Thomas G. Mattio, MD, PhD

Dr. Thomas Mattio, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neurologist at Neuroscience Group with one of the deepest academic and research backgrounds on the team. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Western Illinois University, his Doctor of Philosophy in Anatomy from the Medical College of Georgia-Augusta, and his Doctor of Medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where he also completed a fellowship in the Department of Pharmacology. He then completed his neurology residency at Northwestern University. Throughout his career, Dr. Mattio has served as Medical Director of the Theda Clark Stroke Center and as Principal Investigator on multiple national research studies on stroke. He has been inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and Sigma Chi Honorary Fraternity for academic distinction.
