Clinical Expertise and Special Interests
Dr. Evan Krueger is a neurosurgeon specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, including brain and spinal cord tumors, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and degenerative spine disease. He completed a fellowship in neurotrauma and neurocritical care at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital, one of the country’s most active Level I trauma centers, giving him particular depth in managing complex and acute neurosurgical conditions.
Dr. Krueger also performs Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT), a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure for treating select brain tumors. Using a small laser probe guided by real-time MRI imaging, LITT allows precise targeting of tumor tissue with less disruption to the surrounding brain, shorter recovery times, and reduced surgical risk compared to traditional open resection. Previously available only at specialized academic centers, LITT is now offered at Neuroscience Group, giving patients in Northeast Wisconsin access to this advanced treatment close to home.
Dr. Krueger works closely with medical oncology and radiation oncology teams to ensure LITT is integrated into a comprehensive, coordinated treatment plan for each patient. His approach to all care is to treat patients with compassion and dignity, acting as their advocate throughout every stage of treatment and recovery.
