Wear a helmet
Your helmet should fit properly and be:
-
Well maintained
-
Age appropriate
-
Worn consistently and correctly
-
Appropriately certified for use
There is no concussion-proof helmet, a helmet can help protect from a serious brain or head injury.
Wear a seat belt
Seat belts can reduce serious injuries and deaths from crashes by about 50 percent.
-
Always wear a seat belt each time you drive or ride in a motor vehicle.
-
Children should use an age appropriate car seat or booster seat. These seats should also be properly installed in your vehicle.
Reduce your fall risk
One out of five falls causes a serious injury such as broken bones or a head injury.
-
Talk to your doctor about any medications that may make you feel dizzy.
-
Make your home safer for yourself and children.
Don’t wait to be seen. We can help.
