Neuroscience Group announces time changes for Memory Loss Education Series 2013

Series will move from Thursday afternoons to Tuesday afternoons

Neenah, Wis., (Nov. 15, 2012) – The Memory Loss Education Series sponsored by Neuroscience Group, along with Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Wisconsin Chapter and Azura Memory Care will take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 1-3:00 p.m. throughout 2013.

The Memory Loss Education Series covers various aspects of living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, as well as information for caregivers.

“We’ve had excellent response to the Memory Loss Education Series during our initial year in 2012,” said Cheryll Poissant, director of clinical operations for Neuroscience Group. “People in our community are seeking out others who are going through similar situations for support, and we see the importance of providing them with an outlet. The education and support provided during these talks are vital for those going through these tough times.”

Helping families and caregivers deal with the emotional and financial effects of Alzheimer’s disease is an important initiative at Neuroscience Group. While neurologists help treat the patient, the Group feels it’s important to support families by educating them about the disease.

The first talk will take place on Jan. 8, 2013 at Neuroscience Group, 1305. W. American Dr. in Neenah, and will cover the middle stage – living with Alzheimer’s for caregivers.

Some of the topics being covered throughout the year include:

·       A day in the life of memory loss

·       Late stage – living with Alzheimer’s for caregivers

·       Behaviors of memory loss

·       Legal or financial planning

·       Healthy habits – fall prevention
